Thomas Axley, our founding attorney, began practicing law in 1970. Born in Wisconsin, he and his family moved to Maryland when Thomas was 3 years old. His father a teacher at the University of Maryland and his mother a public school teacher, the family began visiting Calvert County when Thomas was a teenager. He has been in love with Calvert County since.

Thomas left Maryland to pursue his college education at the University of North Dakota. After college, Thomas moved back to Maryland and attended the University of Maryland School of Law in Baltimore. In 1970 he was sworn into practice and returned to Calvert County a few years later. He has made Calvert County his home ever since.
